SABINA DUMITRESCU
Parents, children & family
Bringing together my perspectives as a psychologist and a mother.
When I became a mother for the first time, and especially for the second, everything I had learnt as a psychologist was put to the test. In many ways, I had to begin again, with uncertainty, effort and tears, but also with love and joy.
With my third child, some things became easier and others more difficult. I have learnt so much from my children; they are extraordinary teachers.
I continue to learn how to be a good-enough parent to all three together and to each of them individually, while caring for my family and myself. I learn about change and continuity, joy and sadness, love and rivalry. I try to laugh more, take myself less seriously, play more and enjoy the moments we share.
Learning together
In my courses and workshops, I bring together psychological knowledge and my experience as a mother. I combine ideas, models and techniques with practical examples and conversation.
Every situation is different. Every family and every child responds in their own way. As much as children learn from parents, we have a great deal to learn from them too.
